Dear UAM network!

The final application for the full testbed is filed to Vinnova and now we keep our fingers crossed. We would like to send a big ‘thank you’ to all contributors! This would not have been possible without your generous support. We will know in the middle of November if our work was good enough.

Earlier this fall we also managed to file an application to the H2020 SESAR call SESAR-RIA Research and Innovation Action that closed on September 10. Our proposal – together with Stavanger (Norway), Tampere (Finland) and Rotterdam (Netherlands), aims to enable large-scale, regulated, safe and socially beneficial drone traffic in an urban environment, by focusing on the necessary development of rules and regulations. This will be done by creating a policy labwhere the project objectives will be carried out. In a larger perspective the initiative strives to jointly enable European cities to easily implement a sustainable and improved quality of life with the support of drones. In the Advisory Board we managed to assemble EASA and the FAA’s from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia and Netherlands.

September 26, were at the Nordic Edge Expo in Stavanger and presented the results from the pre-study. The response was intensive, and we have many requests from both Swedish and European municipalities and cities, companies and other stakeholders that shows interest in participating, learning and supporting.

I will go to Cologne in October to participate in the U-Space workshop there and share our feedback on the new draft of the regulatory text from EASA. They will send us the texts next week. If you want me to mediate something, please don’t hesitate to send me your input.
